The Lion’s Disability Transport Service Story.

Throughout the President of the Board’s tenure as a case manager for the disabled, he has inspired his clients to become part of the workforce and the community. He has worked with these individuals diligently to achieve this but has constantly found one main barrier. Talking with others that serve the disabled and their families, he found out that they have come across the same barrier. Transportation. Getting to the job when public transportation is unavailable makes it very difficult to keep these individuals employed, get them groceries, or be involved in the community in any other aspect. This has become even a larger problem since the COVID crisis hit in 2020. The number of people that are working for the providers of the organizations that care for these individuals has decreased dramatically. In Wyoming, it has become a workforce crisis. With the lack of extra people working for the providers, they are unable to provide the extra transportation for their clients. Thus, the need for our service. We want to fulfill the need of transportation for these disabled individuals to be able to be more integrated into their community giving them the same opportunities that everyone else has.
